Right now, PomeGran is building the Northern Ontario Gigabit Fibre Network across participating communities throughout Northern Ontario. Through this project, PomeGran is constructing and operating the fibre infrastructure that will help bring faster, more reliable internet access to underserved and rural communities across the region.
Once construction reaches your area, NIVO, PomeGran’s consumer internet brand, will deliver gigabit-speed fibre internet services to homes and businesses connected to the network.
This broadband expansion initiative is supported through partnerships with the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and the Improving Connectivity for Ontario (ICON) program.
If your property is located within a participating area, there is one simple step you can take now to help ensure your home is ready when fibre service becomes available.
We Need Your Consent to Connect Your Property
Eligible homes may receive a free fibre drop installation during active construction in your area.
A fibre drop is the dedicated fibre line that connects the neighbourhood network at the road directly to the outside of your home. This installation is completed at no cost to eligible properties while crews are already actively building in your community.
Providing consent:
- Does not sign you up for internet service
- Does not create a contract or bill
- Does not obligate you to become a customer
- Simply allows crews to complete the exterior connection while construction is already taking place nearby
The form takes less than two minutes to complete and helps ensure your property is not missed during active construction.
What Does the Fibre Drop Installation Include?
Depending on your property and existing infrastructure, the fibre line may be installed:
- Aerially, using existing utility poles
- Underground, where buried servicing is required or where no aerial infrastructure exists
Our construction teams determine the safest and most efficient installation method based on the property layout and existing utility access. Regardless of the installation method used, crews work to minimize disruption to lawns, driveways, and private property wherever possible.
Think of the fibre drop as your home’s future-ready connection point, installed and waiting for whenever you decide to activate service.
Why Does Timing Matter?
Construction moves through Northern Ontario communities in phases. If your consent is not received while crews are actively working in your area, future connection requests may require additional construction work, separate scheduling, and potentially more disruption later.
Completing the consent form now helps prepare your property for:
- Faster and more reliable fibre internet
- Remote work and online learning
- Streaming and smart home technology
- Future digital services and applications
- Long-term property readiness
Frequently Asked Questions
Does providing consent mean I am signing up for internet service?
No. Providing consent simply prepares your property for future fibre availability. You are not becoming a NIVO customer today, and there is no obligation to subscribe to service. If you decide to activate service later, a separate in-home installation appointment will be scheduled at that time.
Is the fibre drop really free?
Yes. Eligible properties located within participating construction areas may receive the exterior fibre drop installation at no cost during active construction.
Will my lawn or driveway be damaged?
Our crews work to minimize disruption to private property wherever possible. Installation methods are selected based on the safest and most efficient approach for each property.
How is the fibre installed?
The fibre may either be installed aerially using existing utility poles or buried underground where required. The installation method depends on the property layout and existing infrastructure.
What happens if I wait?
If consent is not submitted while construction crews are active in your area, future connection requests may require separate construction scheduling and additional work later on.
